At Waffle Island Coffee Shop

After work last night, Rhea and I went to Country Mall for some groceries. We passed by the new waffle place on the second level of the mall's right wing that we promised ourselves we'd try one day. I can't remember what the place used to be, but now there stands there a waffle place, called Waffle Island Coffee Shop, that looks homey enough you'd want to invite yourself in. They have this poster outside the shop.

There are four waffle varieties to choose from: Ice Cream Waffle, Fruit Waffle (with 6 different kinds of fruits, the staff said), Blueberry/Banana Waffle, and Mango/Cinnamon Waffle. Rhea impromtuly offered to treat me to the place (she is that awesome) and I agreed instantly. Who says no to free food, right?

We decided to order only one and share because I certainly could not finish an entire platter by myself. We chose the Blueberry/Banana Waffle. The drinks are sold separately. They have different kinds of hot and cold coffees, different flavored teas, sodas, and bottled water so you have different options.

The friendly staff (we only saw one apart from the Koreans who I think are the proprietors) gave us a coupon for free Ice Cream Waffle, which we can avail ourselves of the next time we come back to the place because, apparently, we were the day's lucky nth customers. How great is that? And yay to more free food!

We'd have to go back there to try their other waffles. Maybe they'd give us another coupon again as loyalty reward or something.

*Update September 2014: Waffle Island is currently closed, I don't know whether for renovations or for good. I personally hope they come back, but this time around with cheaper waffles and drinks.
