5 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Despair about Being Single on Valentine's Day

Are you single and have no one to spend Valentine's Day with? You don't have to feel bad or pathetic about it. And you shouldn't mind the teasing and bullying you might get. Let me tell you a not-so-secret secret: Being single on Valentine's Day is awesome too. Don't believe me? Here are why.
Reason #1: You don't have to make do with a single valentine.
I'm sure you're not the only person without a romantic partner on Valentine's Day. Gather your family and friends and have a group date instead. I'm sure it'll be more fun. And your dates won't have very high expectations as to how your date would go. You can go to the beach or to the park... it doesn't matter. What matters is you'll spend the day with the people you love.

Not really what I have in mind, but could be fun too.

Reason #2: You don't have to buy gifts.
Buying gifts is always headache-inducing. And because Valentine's Day is a special day for couples, you can't just buy generic items like scarves or hats. Your gifts have to be special, which means they're most probably expensive too. You don't want to be accused of being an unromantic sod, do you?

Of course you can always buy gifts for you other special people (your family and friends). But if you give them a Toblerone each, I'm sure they won't mind. Much. For your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse, you have to make an effort to make the day a little bit more special.

Just don't be a  Scrooge on Valentine's Day, yeah?

Reason #3: You can have a date with yourself!
All your friends and family members have plans on Valentine's Day? No problem. Just chill out with yourself. There are many who don't want to be alone. But consider this: Why do always need to have someone around? Can't you feel enjoyment and happiness if you're alone? Is your company too horrible that even you yourself can't stand it?

You can spend the day however and wherever you want to. You can go hiking by yourself or go to a spa for some pampering... the choices are endless because you'll only have your preferences to consider.

Or you can have a date with your best doggie pal.

Reason #4: You don't have to make plans at all.
If you're half of a couple, you'll always be obligated to prepare for Valentine's Day. On one hand, you may seriously want to make your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse happy so you don't mind making the preparations at all. On the other hand, you're just forced to make the preparations because failing to prepare something special for the day won't bode well for your relationship.

If you're single on Valentine's day, you can just stay in and catch up on your reading or have a movie marathon. Or you can treat the day like any other ordinary day and spend it catching up on work. Either way, your day will surely be productive.

Reading. We all should find time for it

Reason #5: You'll have a worry-free day!
With the above-mentioned reasons, your day will surely be worry- and hassle-free. What's not to like about that?

Be mine, Valentine?
